Cameron Brannagan missed out with illness, but manager Karl Robinson returned to watch the second 3-1 league win in a row.

Matty Taylor was again highly influential in the game and kicked things off in the 29th minute by keeping Moore’s  header in play with an overhead kick for Seddon to head home.

After the break Oxford held their breaths as Ryan Delany had the goal at his mercy for the miss of the season.

Minutes later Taylor was fouled by the keeper just after half-time for the second league penalty in a row to gift James Henry an opportunity to get his 7th of the season from the spot on his 200th appearance for the U’s. Perhaps this was playing on his mind and he skied it over the bar which may still be in orbit at the time of writing.

Cole Stockton is the leagues top scorer with 13 after he volleyed in a Cooney cross, and forced Robinson to make some attacking substitutions.

It paid instant dividends as Taylor headed across for Sykes to give the U’s the lead again with a diving header of his own. And late in the game in-form Taylor topped his two assists by finishing off a Seddon cross to make it 3-1.
