Milton Keynes Dons vs Oxford United Match Report
The football club formerly known as Wimbledon were dispatched 2-1 as the U’s continued their fine form and remain 5th as rivals complete their game in hands.
Oxford United chalked up the second late 2-1 away win in succession with Mark Sykes scoring again.
MK Dons were a tougher nut that the midweek game against bottom of the table Doncaster, but the win is equally more important as dispatching their playoff rivals could be a 6 pointer against a team struggling with absence from Covid.
Manager Karl Robinson watched his former club take an early lead when on-loan Spurs striker Troy Parrot released Hiram Boateng to score.
But the U’s were dominant and Matty Taylor scored yet again when he nodded in Herbie Kane’s cross, before the striker seized a loose ball and sent Mark Sykes clear to finish into an empty net and complete the turnaround.
The team did more than flight back with goals, seeing 4 yellows including Jordan Thorniley’s second for a late sending off.
