Body may be of missing Oxford man

A body has been found on land just off Botley Road in Oxford and police believe it to be missing Oxford man, Trae Van-Merlin.

The 41-year old was last seen at around 4pm on Monday, November 16 last year in Helen Road, Botley.

Thames Valley Police described the death as ‘unexplained’.

At around 3.30pm yesterday, officers were called by a member of the public to land just off Botley Road, where the body was found.

Police said that at this stage there appears to be no suspicious circumstances and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

Formal identification of the body has not taken place but Mr Van-Merlin’s family have been informed and the family have asked for privacy.

Mr Van-Merlin moved to Oxford in early November and police believed he may have travelled to London at the time he went missing.
