Girls show they are women of the future

PUPILS in Didcot did their bit to help empower girls around the world and represent ‘women of the future’.

The Year 11 students from Didcot Girls School took part in the United Nations’ international day of the girl to ‘change the world for the better’, hosting a variety of talks throughout the day on Wednesday.

The aim of the day is to highlight the needs and challenges girls face around the world, such as access to education and the gender pay gap.

Head of school Tom Goodenough said: “For our girls in particular, it builds on the school’s strong culture of campaigning and social engagement that helps the girls develop the skills and drive to change the world for the better.”
