Blackbird Leys Parish Council 19th February 2023
The Blackbird Leys Parish Council is running a cost of living event this Saturday 25 February in the Blackbird Leys Community Centre. Residents can drop in between noon and 3 p.m. to find out how to lower living costs in the Leys.
You can get advice and enquire about support from a dozen organisations, including benefits advice from the Agnes Smith Advice Centre, energy advice from the Low Carbon Hub, Good Food Oxford’s cooking toolkit and repair cafés and a library of things from Share Oxford. There will be some samples of insulation materials and free light refreshments.
If you have questions or concerns about the rising cost of living then we can help with friendly and impartial advice.
The Agnes Smith Advice Centre
Located in the Leys area of Oxford and have been helping the people of Oxfordshire with face to face advice to those most in need. An organisation based upon generous donations to promote the well being of local residents.
Low Carbon Hub
They are a social enterprise operating in Oxfordshire to help people with their ever increasing energy concerns. Celebrating their tenth anniversary this year and still out ther to help you with renewable energy needs.
Good Food Oxford
Promoting sustainable and healthy dietary options for those that are on a budget and would like to maintain a healthy eating plan.
An organisation that encourages the reuse of all household items from books to belts and offers you creative ways to save money.
This event has been organised by the Blackbird Leys Parish Council.
