FA Cup 2nd round draw gives Oxford United potential home game to Sutton United

Oxford United got a plumb tie with Second Division side Sutton United at home in the Second Round of the Emirates FA Cup, if they overcome Bristol Rovers in the First Round replay next Tuesday.

The game would be played the weekend of Friday 3rd December, and winning the tie would give the U’s a great chance to draw a big team in the Third Round which includes all Premier League and Championship teams.

Oxford were denied a victory on Sunday after Bristol Rovers scored a late penalty to force a replay, and even though Sutton United are newly promoted to League Two, they are currently 9th compared to Bristol Rovers 16th. Both sides are due to meet in the league at the Memorial Ground on Boxing Day, and U’s fans will hope that is the next time they meet.

Sutton United Football Club are based in Sutton, South London, and play home games at the VBS Community Stadium on Gander Green Lane.
