A 43-year-old woman from Abingdon died yesterday after the car she was in collided with a tree in Drayton Road.
The woman, who died at the scene, has not yet been formally named.
The driver – a 27-year-old man – was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he remains.
The collision happened shortly after 3.10pm on July 27 when a blue and silver Mitsubishi L200 lost control and collided with a tree while travelling from Drayton towards Sutton Courtenay.
Senior investigating officer Sgt Beth Walton from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who saw the Mitsubishi car travelling prior to the collision.”
Drayton Road was closed while Roads Policing officers investigated the circumstances of the collision and has since reopened.
