Shake Shack have announced that it will open in Oxford on Cornmarket Street. Set over three floors, the new Shack will open early next year with a prime location on Cornmarket Street, a major pedestrian shopping hub in Oxford’s historic centre.
Shake Shack is a fast casual restaurant chain that specializes in burgers, hot dogs, fries, and milkshakes. It was founded in 2004 by restaurateur Danny Meyer and started as a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park, New York City.
Shake Shack has since expanded, with locations across the United States and in the UK including locations in London, Cardiff, Cambridge, Reading, Leeds and Brighton.
In preparation for the opening, Shake Shack is collaborating with Illustrator and Muralist, Ellie Fryer on a unique illustration for the building’s exterior. Ellie has taken inspiration from the rich historical and mythical tapestry surrounding this celebrated city.
Incorporating some of Shake Shack’s signature menu items with an ‘olden’ twist, the artworks focus on bringing to life the stories, legends and cultural heritage of an Oxford past.
Shake Shack fans will be able to get their hands on all the Shack classics, including the signature ShackBurger®, Crinkle-Cut Fries, Flat-top Dogs, ShackMeister® Ale and hand-spun shakes.
