How to support young people with cancer in Oxfordshire for World Cancer Day

Today (Friday February 4 2022) is World Cancer Day and across the county young people supported by Young Lives vs Cancer will be celebrating their big and small wins while facing cancer.

Our Young Lives vs Cancer social workers help young people in the community find the strength to face their cancer, and everything it throws at them. With the community’s support this World Cancer Day, our social workers can continue to help young people thrive, not just survive, during and after cancer treatment.

Please donate online today to help children and young people living with cancer: www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk

As well as donating, there are other ways the community can support Young Lives vs Cancer’s vital work this World Cancer Day.

Band together with young people this World Cancer Day with a World Cancer Day band from our online store and join us in showing support for families. Bands are also available at JDWetherspoon for a suggested £2 donation.

World Cancer Day 2022

Quizzers, bakers, gamers and hosts with the most, are invited to host their own event this World Cancer Day to raise money for Young Lives vs Cancer. Hosts can choose their own event, whether it’s a quiz, dinner, disco or karaoke, and raise money for young people facing cancer.

Anyone looking for a sponsorship challenge could also take on a ‘Month of Movement’, which starts whenever they’re ready. Participants are asked to complete 30 minutes of movement per day for 30 days.

Last but by no means least, Young Lives vs Cancer’s celebrity ambassador, founder of beauty brand Isle of Paradise, Jules von Hep has designed a limited-edition t-shirt with all proceeds going to Young Lives vs Cancer. The t-shirt will be on sale for two weeks from World Cancer Day (February 4 2022). All t-shirts will be available to order via the Young Lives vs Cancer website.

You can find more information on how to get involved on www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk.
