Wantage businesses are celebrating after winning local awards.

Re-loved furniture, interiors and curiosities shop Creations, won the exceptional customer service in the shop category, while long-established local jewellers Peter Casey won the mayor’s best kept shop front award.

Other winners included The Bear, which won the People’s Choice Restaurant for the fourth consecutive year and The Swan which was named People’s Choice Pub.

The Exceptional Customer Service award in the non-retail category went to plumbing and heating specialists, PlumbedWright. The annual business awards are run by Wantage Town Team and supported by Wantage & District Chamber of Commerce and were held to mark Small Business Saturday.

Simon Wood of Creations, in Market Place, said: “As an independent business, Carrie and I at Creations simply love what we do, and we strive to offer a service that goes above and beyond the norm.

“So, to win an award for ‘exceptional customer service’, voted by our customers, is just such a great feeling. We’re so proud and humbled to receive it.”
