Burger King will open its first Banbury restaurant on Friday 11 September, giving away 1,000 burgers to customers at its new drive-through site on Southam Road.
The new branch is at Banbury Edge, a recently developed roadside site on the former CAR Motor Services premises.
Customers will be able to choose a Whopper, Plant-Based Whopper, Chicken Royale or Vegan Royale free of charge from 10am on opening day, while the allocation lasts.

How the 1,000 free burger giveaway works
The promotion is available only at the new Banbury restaurant on Friday 11 September.
Customers can request one of four eligible burgers:
- Whopper
- Plant-Based Whopper
- Chicken Royale
- Vegan Royale
The offer is being run on a first-come, first-served basis and will finish once the combined allocation of 1,000 burgers has been claimed.

The Burger King occupies part of the Banbury Edge development on Southam Road.
Cherwell District Council approved a revised planning application for two drive-through restaurants in May 2024. The development involved demolishing the former CAR Motor Services premises and altering the site’s access onto Southam Road.
The approved plans also included a shared car park, electric-vehicle charging facilities and covered cycle parking.
An earlier version of the two-restaurant scheme had been refused in June 2023 before the revised plans were submitted and approved.
The second drive-through unit was planned for Costa Coffee.
